“and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” – 2 Timothy 2:2
The Definition:
Trust - Something committed into the care of another.
The Purpose:
THE TRUST will make disciples of college-aged men so that they in turn will make disciples of the Lord Jesus as they go.
The Focus:
- Discipleship: Becoming like Christ Jesus through study, teaching, & life on life activities.
- Leadership: Learning to leverage God-given influence to compel others to pursue Christ with all they are, by way of study, teaching, & life on life activities.
- Mission: Putting flesh & life application on personal discipleship & leadership development so the gospel will be taken to the nations.
The Goals:
- THE TRUST participant will (TTPW) be discipled to learn bible study & meditation methods that will help lead them to be “self-feeders”. They will also participate in an in-depth look at the book of Romans. This will be accomplished by sitting under the teaching and having fellowship with both CLS staff, & other ministers of the gospel (Media such as pod casts, DVD’s, CD’s, Webinars, etc. may be used as well.)
- TTPW be discipled by devoting themselves to the discipline of memorizing a large chunk of scripture & other various passages.
- TTPW be discipled by reading and discussing 3 books, outside of the Bible.
(1 theological, 1 on leadership, & 1 on being disciple)
- TTPW be discipled by participating in “prayer journaling” & “journey journaling”.
- TTPW be discipled by “adopted parents” while meeting periodically off campus for dinner at the house of a loving couple that is willing to live life intentionally by making disciples.
- TTPW be led to lead by life on life interactions with the leaders of CLS.
- TTPW be led to lead by visioning, planning, & implementing projects at CLS. (Each participant will vision for a CLS project by themselves and then will lead a team in the planning & implementation of that project. A second CLS project will be visioned by 2 TRUST participants, then planned & implemented by a team under the leadership of THE TRUST participants.)
- TTPW be led to lead by visioning, planning, & implementing 1 local mission endeavor in the Etowah/McMinn County area.
- TTPW be led to participate in the leadership of a college ministry at a local church(s).
- TTPW be led to lead the 4th summer message to be utilized on Buck Bald when needed.
- TTPW serve in Acts 1:8 mission activities on a local, national, and/or international level.
- TTPW be trained as specialists on CLS activities (tower, ropes, games, etc.), equipment (bobcat, chainsaws, mops, etc.), & as counselors.
- TTPW serve CLS campers on weekends and in the summer.
